We look forward to having you volunteer with us for the

2024 Women Build in Honor of Terry Saban!

Build Day Volunteer Reminders

  1. Watch for emails sent from Swell Fundraising for important event reminders and updates
  2. Your work day will begin at 8:30 AM and end at 4:00. Promptness is important!  At the beginning of the day, there is a mandatory safety meeting that all volunteers must participate in. Volunteers should arrive at least 5 minutes early to park and check-in.
  3. Closed-toe shoes are required on all build sites. Build sites can be muddy and tasks that involve painting, staining or caulking can be messy. Plan to wear clothing you don't mind getting dirty. For safety, do not wear clothing or jewelry that is over-sized or hangs down as these can easily get caught on building materials or tools. Clothing such as tank tops or shorts are discouraged. If shorts are worn, they should be an appropriate length and shirts must cover your mid-section.
  4. Habitat provides all tools, equipment and safety gear.
  5. Water and ice will be provided. Please bring any snacks you may need during the day. A 30-minute lunch break will be taken. You can bring lunch or leave and return. Be aware that there are very few eating establishments close by the build site.
  6. Each volunteer must complete the Volunteer Agreement, Release and Waiver of Liability upon registration. Volunteers under age 19 must also complete an additional waiver (linked below) which requires a parent or legal guardian signature. Volunteers age 16-18 will not be allowed to participate without completion of this step. Required waiver for volunteers ages 16-18
  7. If/When posting pictures of your volunteer experience, please be sure to use #HabitatTuscaloosa
